orange divide

The ladies of the Best of Bridge cookbooks are at it again with two fantastic new cookbooks: The Best of the Best and More, Volume 1 and The Rest of the Best and More, Volume 2.

The Best of Bridge cookbooks series began when a group of women who met to play bridge and eat, decided to pull together their fabulous recipes into a cookbook. The cookbook became an immediate hit and started a series of cookbooks that Canadian cooks as well as cooks from around the world truly treasure.

The recipes in this series are always easy to make, and guaranteed delicious. They cover everything from appetizers to desserts, with things like breads and muffins added in as well.

I have been surprised to find that some of my favorite recipes, passed on by friends, were originally in one of the Best of Bridge cookbooks.

In fact, Best of Bridge recipes have become staples at potluck dinners across the country. So much are these recipes loved, the generation of children raised on them is now cooking them for themselves.

Here is a sampling of just some of the mouth watering recipes you will find in these wonderful cookbooks:

Here is what others are saying about these fabulous cookbooks:

A. Wierks says of The Best of the Best and More, Volume 1:

"One of the best cookbooks I own!"

"As an avid cook and recipe book collector, I am always on the lookout for new cookbooks. This one rocks! The book has so many recipes that I love... such as Pasadena Pinwheels, Samosas with Phyllo and Spicy Noodle Salad, recipes that have become the ones I am always requested to bring!! The recipes range from quick and easy, to a little more involved. They are well written and I have enjoyed everything I've tried (and its been a lot!!!!)I try to give this cookbook to everyone I know, and I would strongly recommend it! You will not be disappointed, I promise!"

S. Ricci adds:

"I have owned this cookbook for 10 years, and purchased it as a gift about 6 times! The recipies always become favorites at get togethers and dinner parties!"

About The Ladies of the Best of Bridge:

In 1975, at a weekend getaway, eight women friends had an idea: Since a consistent highlight of their decade-old bridge group was the food they prepared and shared together, perhaps they should think about writing a cookbook. This spur-of-the-moment notion was the impetus for The Best of Bridge, which went on to become one of the most successful brands in Canadian publishing.

From the outset, "The Ladies of the Best of Bridge," as they like to be known, had a unconventional vision of how their business would be run. It would be a partnership of equals, a celebration of friendship and -- perhaps most of all -- it would be fun. The bank manager who approved their first loan warned them they would never stay friends. They vowed to prove him wrong.

More than 30 years and three million copies later, the ladies are enjoying the last laugh. In addition to creating a phenomenally successful business, they have remained close friends with fond memories of all the good times they've shared.

As the Ladies would say, "You should have these books. We've tested, tasted and revised. We promise you'll love every recipe."
