Did You Know?...

Although the Brits still love their traditional roasted meat dinners with roasted potatoes and veg (vegetables), more and more variety is coming into British cooking.

If you asked a British person the most popular foods in England they would as often say curry or Italian pasta as roast beef.

Indian food, especially curries, are very popular in England. India was a colony of the British Empire for many years and most British people are quite fond of curry.

Traditionally British food has been heavy on the meat, with large roasts served with potatoes and one side vegetable.

Nowadays, the British, like all of us, are discovering the wonderful flavors of the foods of the world. You will find many, many Indian restaurants in Britain of course, but also Thai, Italian, Greek and Japanese.

Like the rest of us as well, lately there is a move towards more healthy eating.
