I would absolutely recommend 'The Hungry Years'... that was the inspiration for me. 'An Apple a Day' was more like my guide book.

Learning about nutrition is key. Understanding why you eat the way you do is the first step in stopping the way you do it. It's incredibly difficult for the first 4-5 weeks, but after that, it's quite simple. And enjoyable.

I think that my biggest problem is that I'm a binge eater (also called a compulsive eater).

Do you think the 2 books you mentioned would be helpful for me? I find that most diet and "healthy eating" books don't address the issue of compulsive eating.
