I think counting calories is one of the best ways to help people lose weight. I have terrible eating habits and am always shocked at how bad some of the foods are that I eat.
One of the most important things you can do is exercise with weights in addition to counting your calories. As you lose weight, you will get more toned and will look much better and feel much better.
Also, I try and keep it simple and lose 1 pound per week, which is 500 calories less than I need each day. For me, doing more than that starved my body too much.
