DOI RUI

In Bengali, Doi means 'curd' and Rui means 'Rohu fish'. Here is a very tasty dish made with fish and curd.

Ingredients:-
500g Rohu fish, cut into medium-sized pieces
1 onion
1 bowl curd , beaten properly to avoid lumps
1 cup mustard oil
2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
Salt, as per taste
Sugar, as per taste
1 tsp turmeric powder
1tsp red chilli powder
1 cup curd
Water
1 tsp cardamom(elaichi) powder (roasted dry and ground)
1 tsp cinnamon(dalchini) powder (roasted dry and ground)
1tsp cloves (laung) powder (roasted dry and ground)

Method :-
Fry the fish pieces in oil with salt and turmeric powder.
Add oil to another pan and add ginger-garlic paste, salt, sugar, turmeric powder, red chilli powder .
Add curd and stir nicely. There should be no lumps.Add little water.
When the gravy starts boiling, add the fried fish pieces.
Add ground elaichi, cloves, cinnamon.
