Doug’s Crockpot Split Pea and Ham Soup V2.0

1 (16 oz.) pkg. dried green split peas, rinsed
1 hambone - leftover from a dinner is best
2 cups diced ham
3 carrots chopped fine
1 large sweet onion, chopped
2 stalks of celery chopped
4 cloves crushed garlic
2 bay leaf
No salt needed - it comes with ham
1/2 tsp. fresh pepper
Chicken stock to cover

1 cup cream - blend in when pureed

Mix ingredients LESS ham in slow cooker
Press ham bone down into mix
Add diced ham on top
Add liquid to cover

DO NOT STIR.
Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours until peas are very soft and ham falls off bone.

Remove diced ham with slotted spoon.
Remove bones and bay leaf.
*Non-pureed results look weird & low in pot - not to worry, fully finished the crock is full.

Puree soup in batches and return to crock
Stir in cream & water to desired thickness - add a lot!
Return diced ham to puree.

Serve with grilled thin baguette slices if you want
