Entertaining RecipesWhat a great idea!

Create great recipes and take them from everyday to entertaining recipes.

In their new cookbook Everyday to Entertaining: 200 Sensational Recipes That Transform from Casual to Elegant, Meredith Deeds and Carla Snyder do just that.

They have created 200 delicious everyday recipes, then show you how to easily turn them into extraordinary entertaining recipes.

Here is why I particularly love this concept and this cookbook:

Most of us home cooks want simple, but still delicious, recipes with a minimum of fuss and ingredients for everyday meal preparation.

There are also times, however, when a special occasion calls for something a little more special.

Few home cooks have the time to source and try new recipes, so a cookbook like Everyday to Entertaining is sorely needed.

The authors, Meredith and Carla feature handy, easy-to-follow tips and techniques throughout the book, along with menu-planning ideas and cooking shortcuts.

These two accomplished chefs and cooking instructors provide tasty dishes for any occasion that will help the us all satisfy the needs of busy families.

The recipes in this cookbook have been created and organized to go from weekday to weekend by simply using different or additional ingredients, techniques and cooking methods.

For example, sumptuous white wine braised chicken can be prepared in a few steps and with minimal pantry ingredients. It is perfect for a quick weekday dinner.

On the next page is a fantastic recipe for coq au vin, which uses many of the preceding recipe’s main ingredients, but it requires more preparation time and additional ingredients which makes it perfect for an elegant dinner party or other special event.

Here are some other examples of the innovative ideas in this cookbook:

  • Braised Short Ribs becomes Guiness-Braised Short Ribs with Horseradish Cream
  • Beef Fajitas becomes Lime and Tequila-Marinated Flank Steak with Sweet and Sour Chipotle Sauce
  • Roasted Rack of Lamb becomes Pistachio-Crusted Rack of Lamb with Spiced Zinfandel Sauce
  • Mustard and Garlic Roasted Pork Loin becomes Glazed Pork Loin Stuffed with Apricots and Figs
  • Creamy Potato Gratin becomes Creamy White Winter Gratin with Carmelized Onions
  • Arroz con Pollo turns into Chicken, Sausage and Seafood Paella
  • Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes becomes Potato Haystacks with Gruyère
  • Chocolate Mousse turns into Chocolate Mousse filled Profiteroles
