Cooking Tips
Tips:
  • The cheese crisps should be consumed not too long after cooking for them to retain maximum crispness.
  • While the crisps are still fairly warm (be careful - don't handle them immediately out of the oven or you will burn yourself on hot cheese) you can mold them into a shape by placing them over an inverted custard cup or other object that has the shape you want.
  • Coarsely grated cheese is best.
  • Add cracked black pepper or a dash of cayenne pepper to the piles if you want a little extra kick.

Did You Know?...

I love easy appetizer recipes and this one certainly fits that bill.

Simply bake little piles of parmesan cheese until they begin to turn color and firm up.

That's it! Could anything be any simpler than that?

It is really important to line your baking sheet with parchment paper or one of those silicone liners, or the cheese will stick and you will ruin the crisps and be cleaning up for ages.

These little crisps are perfect as part of your selection of party appetizers, but they are also perfect to serve alongside stews soups or pretty much any Italian recipes.

You just have to know that parmesan is always going to taste fantastic with Italian food.

The little piles of cheese will melt and become lacy as they spread out over the baking sheet. Make sure to leave plenty of room around each pile.
