We have three salad dressing recipes on this page of the site – a wonderful fresh tasting citrus salad dressing, a vinaigrette recipe with lovely sesame and ginger flavors and a mexican vinaigrette, a perfect dressing recipe for salads that accompany Mexican meals.
All of these delicious salad dressing recipes are easy to make, with just a few simple ingredients that you will most likely have on hand.
Citrus Salad Dressing
Use whatever citrus juice you prefer or mix them as we have shown in the recipe. The orange juice is obviously sweeter. Match the taste with other items you are serving.
Salad dressing isn’t just used to top salads any more. This citrus dressing is perfect drizzled over grilled or broiled fish or on sliced avocado. You can even top a fruit salad with it.
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon, lime or orange juice (or a mix)
- 6 tablespoons of olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients together and pour over the salad when ready to serve.
Sesame Ginger Salad Dressing
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar (or white vinegar)
1 tablespoon ginger, freshly minced
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
Mix together the ginger and vinegar. Whisk in the oils and combine.
Mexican Vinaigrette Recipe with Cilantro and Lime
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon lime juice
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro
1/2 jalapeno pepper, seeded
6 tablespoons olive oil
If you have a food processor or blender this recipe mixes well in that. Place all ingredients except the oil in the blender and mix well. With the motor still running, open the lid and slowly drizzle in the olive oil.
The lime and cilantro are giveaways that this is a Mexican inspired salad dressing. Use it on salads to accompany your favorite Mexican recipes, or on any salad where you want to add the flavors of Mexico.
