Sugar Question

Do we have to use brown sugar in the chocolate chip cookie recipe? I have all the ingredients but that, and im to lazy to go out and buy some.

Note from Karen:
You can replace the brown sugar in the recipe with white sugar. It will have a different taste and will not be quite as rich tasting.
