Mix the cornmeal and 3/4 cup water in a 2 quart saucepan. Stir in the boiling water and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and boils.
Reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often, until very thick.
Remove from the heat. Stir until smooth. Top with your favorite sauce to serve.
