Pecan Pies

This is my best pecan pie recipe and may just make the perfect pie.

I LOVE pecan pie! Okay, it may be one of the sweetest pies going, but you really do only need a small slice to enjoy, so a little goes a long way.

Prep time:

Cook time:

Ingredients:
1 single pie crust
1 cup pecan halves
3 eggs
2/3 cup sugar
pinch salt
1 cup corn syrup
1/3 cup melted butter

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425°F.

Prepare pastry according to directions for an unbaked pie shell. Place the pastry into a 9" pie pan.

Spread the pecans over the pastry. Combine the eggs, sugar, com syrup and melted butter. Beat together well. Pour the mixture over the pecans.

Bake on lower oven rack for 30 minutes or just until set.

Serves 8.

Did You Know?...

Southern pecan pie always seemed to me like a recipe that would be difficult to make.

How do you create that luscious thick, sweet sauce that the pecans float on?

Well, as it happens, the ingredients just combine and thicken as they cook. Not difficult at all.

This pie is perfect for entertaining or on a buffet table with other desserts.

Everyone loves this sweet treat and it is considered a more elegant pie, so guests really appreciate it.
