Power Foods: Healing Foods and Healthy Food Choices

Power foods are healing foods

In this growing section of the site we are going to examine power foods and the healing power of foods.

What is a power food? A natural food that brings health benefits to us when we eat it. It can be a common food, herb or spice, or possibly something more unusual from other parts of the world. We live in a time of global cuisine, where foods from all over the world are available to us, so we can take advantage of healing foods from other cultures as well as our own.

Healthy foods can be quite healing for our bodies. Each natural food, herb and spice has its own nutritional profile and that profile determines how it reacts in our body and what health benefits it brings us.

I am going to review the health benefits of over 150 foods, spices and herbs and tell you why they are such healthy foods, how to cook them and give you recipe ideas for using them.

It is so important to our health to make healthy food choices. What you will find is that pretty much anything you eat fresh or make from scratch is healthier than buying something that is processed. The simplest and purist is often the best way to eat.
