Spanish, Tex Mex and Mexican Recipes

mexican recipes

Authentic Mexican recipes are a hit the world over and certainly throughout North America.

They often take influences from Spanish recipes, but add their own country's particular twists and regional specialties.

There is just something special about the combination of flavors that borrows from other cultures but is combined in unique ways in Mexican food.

In the US, Tex Mex recipes developed from the influence of a large Mexican population in the southwestern states.

These recipes evolved over time to appeal to American appetites and use more commonly found American ingredients. Tex Mex cooking was born, and we are all thankful.

Of course Spanish, Tex Mex and Mexican food are all somewhat different from each other, but we have combined them here because they are very similar in many areas.

We have a growing collection of easy and authentic Spanish and Mexican recipes, plus Tex Mex recipes that are definitely south of the border influenced but very North American.

From great appetizers to easy dessert recipes, look here for south of the border recipes that will delight friends and family alike.
