Some of the recipes are for quick breads - just mix and bake for a delicious treat. We've also got great recipes for yeast breads, bread machine breads, muffins, scones, flaky biscuits and pancakes. For the non-baker or those new to baking: a yeast bread is a bread that uses dry yeast to make it rise. It takes a bit of time but can be well worth the effort. The smell of homemade bread baking is enough to make a non-baker want to get the recipes out. A quick bread uses no yeast, just baking powder, and rises a bit but it is more of a dessert bread than a sandwich bread. I hope you enjoy all of these recipes. Keep coming back because we add more recipes all the time. Better yet, subscribe to our RSS feed (see the button on the right side of the page) and you'll be informed each and every time a new recipe is added to the CookingNook.com recipe collection.

Cooking TipFor great baking results, keep an oven thermometer in the oven and use it to make sure you are baking at the right temperature. Oven temperatures regularly vary between 25 - 75°F, so an oven thermometer can save you from spoiling many recipes. ![]() ![]() |
